Garreg Lwyd Hill Wind Farm

Wind Farm

Garreg Lwyd Hill wind farm required a rainwater harvesting system and waste water treatment plant to provide welfare services due to the remote location of the wind farm control building.

Built by Jones Bros, Ecozi was employed on a supply, installation and commissioning basis for the rainwater harvesting and cess tank waste water systems. The welfare building was pre-fabricated offsite, Ecozi installed the services between the underground rainwater tank and the welfare building. The controls were located inside the building and the water distribution pipe connected to the pre-installed offsite plumbing.

There is no mains water backup at remote wind farms, the non-potable water applications have a tank sized on the basis the site will not run out of water. Ecozi has supplied rainwater harvesting systems to multiple wind farms during the last 14-year construction boom.
