Commercial Rainwater Harvesting System
The head office for Office for National Statistics (ONS) at Newport has undergone significant refurbishment during the last 10 years.
A water recycling system installed in 2013 provides reclaimed water for WC flushing in the 130 x WC installed in the building. The reclaimed water, a blend of rainwater from the building roof and hard surface areas was previously pumped off site to the river Taff.
Since installation 30,000L water a day is pumped to the WCs and other than maintenance the system operates 100% on reclaimed water. Ecozi has been maintaining the system, which also supplies the adjacent Government agency Intellectual Property Office (IPO)
